As we enter the final week of January and step more fully into 2026, many of us are carrying a familiar mix of momentum and fatigue. The year is underway, and already, it feels full.
I’ve just returned from an incredible 2 week trip through Latin America, including two very different but equally unforgettable experiences in Panama. One moment found me sitting in the Caribbean Sea, surrounded by beautiful starfish, completely present, unhurried, and grounded. It was a gentle reminder of how precious life feels when we slow down long enough to truly notice it.
In Awe Of Our World’s Great Engineering Wonders!
A couple of days later, I was flying over the Panama Canal in a doors-off 😆 helicopter, wind rushing, hair blowing wild. On top of being my first time in a helicopter, seeing one of the world’s great engineering wonders from above was both exhilarating and humbling. A place where history, commerce, and human ingenuity collide, and a reminder that sometimes we need awe, perspective, and a little adventure to feel fully alive. What makes the Panama Canal lock system especially remarkable is that while it’s man-made, it works with natural elements, using freshwater, gravity, and existing lakes, so it often feels almost natural when you see it in person.
This past week has also underscored how much is happening around us. Severe weather has affected communities across the country, and national events continue to stir strong emotions, uncertainty, and concern. In moments like these, connection matters more than ever.
That’s where travel takes on deeper meaning. It’s not just about where we go, but who we share the journey with, the conversations, the shared silences, the memories formed in moments both quiet and thrilling. These connections ground us and give experiences their lasting power.
As we continue into the year ahead, my hope for you is to protect the moments that bring you peace. Invest in experiences that connect you more deeply to people and place, and find ways to make those moments last.
